What You Need To Do
Prompt your favourite AI to give to an overview of how you should approach the following requirement.
You can give it the entire list as a single prompt, or give it piecemeal. It’s your choice. Or re-write the prompt as you see fit.
You can even simply copy and paste it verbatim.
The aim of the exercise is to examine what answers different people get from AI, and what we can learn from it.
The Requirement
You are in charge of the Annual Budgeting process for a large global organisation.
There are 400 operating units, in 90 cities, in 50 countries, and 4 regionsof the world. Rolling up to Group.
There is a standard common template for each of the units. The reporting layout has the usual January to December columns, and has 28 reporting lines. A spample is provided.
Some of the budget lines need to be pre-populated by Group.
The managers (budget holders) have to fill in the rest.
The budget process takes 3 weeks .
During the process the managers and their superiors will discuss, negotiate, construct the number to submit. They need to be able to view the current state of the budgets at all times. Particularly, the group and sub-group consolidations must be in real-time for review in Zoom meetings.
Audit Trail: On the consolidation, the users must be able to drill into the constituent numbers that make up the aggregated numbers.
There must be full transparency as to who changed what numbers.
The users must be able to retrieve earlier version for review. Easily.
Budget Holders’ should be able to enter notes on specific numbers.
There must be access rights to ensure that only authorised people can view, or update, the budgets.
The access rights must be controlled by the controller of the process.
The group map is supplied as a Regional Map. Region > Country > City > Shop. However, there are three other group maps that the model needs to roll up the consolidations by. (2) By Management and (3) By Legal Entity (as the actual operaions will be in local corporations). Consolidations by these other group maps are also required, and easily accessible in the Zoom review meetings.
The model must be an Excel model on Windows.
